Ruler on iphone3/20/2023 The fact that this app has so many positive reviews, brings it to the top of the search screen in the App Store. To devs: I recommend a better way to implement your “pro” version, one that does not disrupt the entire function of this app. But for other users in US who don’t actively use CM, this can be highly impractical and you must pay to be able to measure in inches. This ruler only measures in CM, which is not bad. 10-15 secs of measuring and 10 secs of a pixelated screen prompting you to upgrade. There is a set amount of SECONDS that you can measure for before the ruler becomes pixelated and you are prompted to upgrade or wait 10 seconds before you can continue measuring. And developer, if you are reading this, go stick your head in a trash can, delete this app, and never make anything again, because you WILL mess it up. How did this app even get 2-star ratings? After 30 seconds, I just deleted this stupid waste of my time. EXCUSE ME? I used it for 3 seconds! How did I exceed any limit? Just thinking about this freaking app makes me want to hurl. Buy the upgrade to cancel this limit or wait 20 seconds. Then, after 3 seconds of using the so-called “ruler”, a message popped up: measure time “exceeded”. I first downloaded it just to use for homework, but after opening it for 2 seconds, a purchase ad came on, and I pressed “cancel”. What the hell? Also, just seeing that this trash “app” actually is only free when you use it for 3 seconds is completely outrageous! It’s not even worth your time and money, and I have no idea why there are so many good reviews on this thing. One of the drawbacks, I feel, of being able to draw something that needs measured accuracy on a touch tablet device.Ok, starting with the fact that this thing is not even that accurate, and even to use it for more than 5 seconds will cost me 5 dollars?! This can be problematic when zoomed up into an image, always having to zoom back measure things at a 1:1 scale ratio to make sure the measurements are close or dead accurate. Not many sketching/drawing apps have coded in measuring rulers, hence thr reason to still use a actual, physical measuring ruler atop my iPads when I am sketching/drawing/painting on my iPad. It would just be better to have an actual onscreen ruler app in more sketching/drawing/painting apps or an an accurate, transparent screen ruler app that I can use with any image, screenshot or imported drawing file to be able to easily check measurements and modify the image accordingly. Something that I always have to be vigilant and diligent about all the time. I get around this now by just drawing using an actual clear plastic “see-thru” ruler on top of my iPad Pro when I draw or sketch on my iPad, but I always have to make sure the ruler is clean and free from any grit for fear of scratching my iPad Pro screen all of the time. It is a shame as I found two or three of these onscreen ruler apps that I would probably end up using everyday when I am doing any kind of technical sketching or drawing on my iPad. I do not really believe Apple's iOS App Store overseers let these types of apps through and allowed then into the iOS App Store. I have no idea why the developers/makers of these myriad of onscreen ruler apps need to collect personal/device info, but I feel for these types of onscreen device measuring app, there is absolutely no justifiable reason to collect a person's personal and/or device information to be able to use these types of apps. Something that has prevented me from wanting to download one of dedicated onscreen ruler apps, which for me, as a technical illustrator would come in very handy in some generic drawing apps that have NO such ruler feature coded into their app/s. Even those that you need to pay a small in-app purchase to get rid of ads. I have looked through many of the dedicated screen ruler apps in the Apple iOS App Store and while I find some to look very good, it appears many of these apps collect data from behind the scenes.
